Live Musicians + DJ in Columbus, Ohio
Saxophone, strings, piano, guitar and more, performing alongside your DJ. Inquire for pricing.
A DJ keeps the dance floor packed. A live musician gives the room something to watch. Put them together and you get both: the songs your guests know, mixed live, with real musicians layered in where they make the biggest impact.
That might be strings for the ceremony, a saxophonist over cocktail hour, or a player out on the dance floor at the peak of the night. We book the musicians and plan it with your DJ, so it never feels like two separate acts taking turns.
It adds on to any of our wedding DJ experiences, private parties, and corporate events, and it all stays on one contract.

Most requested
Saxophone
A saxophonist riffing over the DJ mix. Smooth over cocktail hour, then out on the dance floor at the peak of the night. The player performs with your DJ, not instead of them.
Ceremony + cocktail hour
Violin & Strings
A solo violinist or cellist, or a string duo, trio or quartet. Classic pieces or pop songs arranged for strings, then a clean handoff to the DJ when it's time to party.
Ceremony, cocktails, dinner
Piano & Guitar
Solo piano or acoustic guitar for a quieter, warmer feel while guests mingle and eat. Live where it fits, DJ where the dance floor needs it.

Something Else In Mind?
Percussion, a vocalist, another instrument entirely. Tell us what you're picturing and we'll find out who's available for your date before anything is promised.
Where Live Music Fits In Your Night
Book a musician for one moment or the whole evening.
The Ceremony
Live strings, piano or guitar for the walk down the aisle. We run the ceremony audio, so the music and the mics work together.
Cocktail Hour
The most popular spot for live music. A player over a relaxed mix while guests grab a drink and find their seats. It sets a tone a playlist can't.
Dance Floor Sets
The high-energy version. The saxophonist steps onto the floor and plays over the DJ mix at the peak of the night. Guests get a live show in the middle of the party.
The Whole Evening
The player is with us all night and picks their moments. Great live music is as much about knowing when not to play, so it never wears out its welcome.
One Show, Not Two Acts
Your DJ and the musicians plan the night together, so the handoffs are smooth and it sounds like a single performance.
One Contract
We book the musicians, handle the coordination, and work their sound into our setup. One less vendor for you to find, vet, and manage.
How It Works
- 1. Tell us what you're picturing. Strings for the ceremony, sax over cocktail hour, a feature set during dancing, or the whole night. If you're not sure, tell us the feel you're going for and we'll suggest what fits.
- 2. We confirm musicians and send your quote. Pricing depends on the instrument and how long they play, so we quote it for your event instead of guessing. We confirm who's available for your date before anything is locked in.
- 3. Your DJ and the musicians plan it together. Song choices, the moments that matter, and when the live music comes in and out all get worked out ahead of time alongside the rest of your planning.
- 4. It runs as one show on the day. The musicians and your DJ work from the same plan and the same timeline. Nothing extra for you or your venue to coordinate.
Live Musician Questions
How much does it cost to add live musicians to a DJ in Columbus? +
It depends on the instrument and how long you want them playing. A solo violinist for the ceremony is a very different number than a saxophonist all night, so we quote it for your event. Reach out with your date and what you have in mind, and we'll send you real numbers.
Which musicians can you book? +
Saxophone is the one couples ask us for most, and it's the one that plays over the DJ during the dance sets. We also book violin, cello, string duos, trios and quartets, piano, and acoustic guitar for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. If you want something else, like percussion or a vocalist, ask and we'll find out who's available.
Can the musician perform with the DJ, or is it a separate act? +
With the DJ. The saxophonists we work with specialize in playing over a live DJ mix, so the sax is woven into the music your guests are already dancing to. Strings, piano and guitar usually cover the ceremony and cocktail hour, then hand the night to the DJ, and we plan those handoffs ahead of time.
Can we have live music for just the cocktail hour or ceremony? +
Yes, and it's the most common request. One to two hours of live music during the ceremony and cocktails, then the DJ takes the night from there. You can also bring a saxophonist back for a feature set once the dance floor is going.
Do we need to book a LogieBear DJ to add live musicians? +
Yes. Live musicians are an add-on to a LogieBear DJ booking, whether that's a wedding DJ experience, a private party, or a corporate event. The DJ and the musicians are planned as one performance, which is what makes it work.
We already booked our DJ with you. Can we still add it? +
Yes. Send us a note and we'll check musician availability for your date. Earlier is better, since good players book up, especially on peak Saturdays.
Is it only for weddings? +
No. Live music with a DJ works anywhere there's a dance floor or a cocktail crowd: holiday parties, galas, milestone birthdays, and corporate events across Central Ohio.
