Common Questions
How much does a wedding DJ cost in Columbus, Ohio? +
Wedding experiences start at $2,499 for The Real Mix Experience. Most couples land around $2,999 once they add uplighting or a photo booth (The Real Show Experience). The Real Spectacle Experience with cold sparks, dancing-on-a-cloud, and a CO2 cannon runs $3,999. See the full breakdown on the Investment page.
How early should we book our wedding DJ? +
Most couples book about 12 months out. Six months can work, but it gets tight, and popular Saturday dates in May through October usually go first. The sooner you reach out, the better your odds your date is still open.
Do you MC and make announcements? +
Yes, every experience includes MC duties. Toasts, introductions, parent dances, send-off. We work with you ahead of time on every announcement so nothing comes off canned or stiff. The goal is your voice through our mic, not the other way around.
Can you handle ceremony audio too? +
Yes, and ceremony audio is included in every package. Wireless mics for the officiant and couple, ceremony speakers sized to the space, battery-powered setups for outdoor or remote ceremony spots, and curated music for processional, recessional, and the signing.
What does “real mixing” actually mean? +
It means reading the room. We watch what your guests are responding to, what they're not, and what's about to land. Then we pick the next song based on that, your couple-specific preferences, and the moment in front of us. No two weddings get the same set. We're not running last weekend's mix at your wedding.
How does the booking process work? +
It's a clear, low-pressure flow. The deposit and signed contract are what actually lock the date.
- Initial call to walk through your vision.
- You pick an experience and any add-ons.
- We send the contract and deposit info.
- Your date locks in once the 30% retainer is paid and the contract is signed. From there we meet, message, and plan whenever you need.
- Second 30% is due about six months out.
- Final planning meeting is around 30 days before the wedding.
- Last 40% is due at least seven days before the event.
Then we show up and DJ your wedding.
What if your equipment fails on our wedding day? +
Every critical piece has a backup on site. Redundant controllers and mixer, spare mics, an extra speaker. It's never come up at a wedding, but we plan for it like it will.
Your Wedding Day
What the day looks like once we show up, so you know exactly what we’re handling.
01 3 hours before ceremony
Load-In
Setup happens before guests arrive. Sound, lighting, any add-ons. Your venue coordinator can let us in. You don't need to be there. By the time guests show up, the room is ready.
02 audio + music cues
Ceremony
Wireless mics for the officiant and couple. Speakers sized to the space. Curated processional, recessional, and signing music. We cue every moment from a quiet corner so the audio never feels like a production.
03 lounge volume
Cocktail Hour
Conversation-level music while guests mingle. We're already reading the room, watching who's grouped up and what kind of energy is building so the reception lands hot when it starts.
04 MC + walk-in
Grand Entrance
Wedding party announced in your order, your energy. You walk in. First dance flows out of it without an awkward gap. Pronunciations confirmed with you ahead of time.
05 wireless mic
Dinner + Toasts
Volume drops to dinner level. Wireless handheld mic for every toast. The dance floor opens when toasts wrap and the room is ready.
06 live-mixed, all night
Dance Floor + Send-Off
Floor opens after dinner. Parent dances, anniversary dance, bouquet or garter if you want them. Everything else mixed live, requests filtered against your do-not-play list. Last dance, sparkler or bubble exit, then load-out happens after guests leave.
